Classes
Enroll for recorder, viol or flute as
primary instrument; harp, viol. recprder as secondary instruments. You
may attend more than one secondary instrument class as your schedule allows.
Recorder classes for lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and
advanced levels.
Consorts
& Ensembles
All-Workshop Ensemble - instruments
& voices; Coached Consorts -
assigned according to playing level
with emphasis on ensemble techniques; Renaissance Band - large
multi-choir group for recorders, capped reeds, viols; Medieval
Collegium - (Music from the Court of Avignon and
Johannes Ciconia); Happy
Hour Ad-hoc Ensemble - informal late afternoon drop-in group led by
faculty member. Informal after hours playing (we can assist you in finding
a group).
Special
Topic Classes
Bass class - All sizes of bass recorders in
ensemble. Bigger is better!
Introduction to Baroque Ornamentation - Learn basic ornaments, how to
execute and apply them.
20 c. Music - The playable variety - accessible to intermediate/advanced
levels.
Basics for All Wind Players - whether you are new to winds or
experienced, learn proper breathing for good tone quality, articulation as an
aid fo phrasing and rhythm.
Orchestration - going beyond range.
Explore various combinations; compare with those that may have been used in the
period. Bring all your instruments to this class
Voice Class - for singers and those who just like to sing.
Harp-for-Novice - opportunity to try harp without owning an instrument.
Viol-for-Novice - opportunity to try viol without owning an instrument.
